Peripheral Nerve Surgery
The peripheral nerve system is a web of 43 pairs of motor and sensory nerves that join the brain and spinal cord (called the central nervous system) to the whole body. Sensation, movement and motor function are all under the control of the peripheral nerves. They are very delicate, easily damageable nerves. Trauma or injury to nerves is something only remedied with surgery. Dr. Yashar’s knowledge of the peripheral nervous system combined with his surgical expertise make for superior surgical outcomes.
Dr. Yashar treats a variety of peripheral nerve system conditions. Below are the most common conditions he treats:
Peripheral Nerves Procedures
Carpal Tunnel Release
During carpal tunnel release, the ligament that is pressing down on the carpal tunnel is cut providing more room for the median nerve and tendons passing through the tunnel. This usually improves pain and function.
